Which codes do you need?
Determine what you want to encode. Do you need to encode products, locations, dispatch units or a combination of these?
If you order for the first time, a GS1 code package is the most obvious choice.
How many codes do you require?
How many codes you need is the number of products and variants (colors, sizes) in your assortment.
Suppose, you act in T-shirts and you only have white T-shits in one size? Then you need 1 code. Do you have a broader assortment? Then you need more codes, because each color and each size gets its own code.
If you expect the assortment to grow, take a larger package now. It is more efficient to select a larger package now than to need to order an extra package.
Can I reuse my codes?
No. Whether you use the codes to sell in a store or online: An assigned code is and always remains associated with that product. Even if it is no longer on the market, because the internet never forgets and the product will always be discoverable.
What will you receive when you purchase a code package?
You will get officially registered barcode numbers. Once you have paid, they will be waiting for you in our Customer Portal MijnGS1.
These worldwide unique codes can be converted to a symbol, the known barcode.
Who applies for codes?
When your product name is on the product or if you are the producer, you are responsible for encoding the items.
