Data Management Services - what is it and how does it work?
Brandbank, Efdrie, XXtract and Foodbyte are accredited to record and check data for you. We check whether the parties apply GS1 standards and guidelines correctly. You choose a party and make agreements with them about the conditions and costs of the service.
Record
A DMS can record logistic data and label information for you in GS1 Data Source. You then do not have to have your article data checked. Tips for concluding an agreement:
- What service level do you expect?
- How does the communication about the products go that need to be recorded?
- How does the shipment of products work? Do I receive a shipping label as a supplier or do I decide which products I send?
- What arrangements do you make with regard to the confirmation of receipt of products?
- Who uploads my data into GS1 Data Source?
- Who can modify my data in GS1 Data Source? Can only the DMS do this or can I do this myself as a supplier?
Check

If you receive a call from us to have your data checked, please contact the DMS of your choice to have that done. They will compare the product information in GS1 Data Source with the data from and on the physical product. Tips for concluding an agreement:
- What service level do you expect?
- What is the turnaround time of a check?
- How does the communication about the checks go and who is the contact person?
- How does the shipment of products work? Do I receive a shipping label as a supplier or do I decide which products I send?
- What arrangements do you make with regard to the confirmation of receipt of products?
If you have any questions about the procedure, conditions and costs, please contact the DMSs.
