This May, the introduction of a common data model for the Benelux is on the cards and the data entry instruction will be released in a new fashion.
Common data model for the Benelux
Ever more companies are operating in the Netherlands as well as in Belgium, increasing the demand for alignment of the information contained in GS1 Data Source (GDSN) within the Benelux. To address this need Belgium and the Netherlands will apply the same data model for the food, health and beauty industry. The Dutch maintenance group and the Belgium data committee have merged into a common Maintenance Group which will be deciding on implementations.
From May 12th onwards the number of unique attributes for the Benelux will amount to 289. For the Netherlands 79 new attributes will be added, the majority of which optional. Detailed information on all attributes will be available by the second half of March.
A new form of data entry instruction: Attribute Explorer
In order to increase the accessability of all attributes and the associated data entry instructions, these will be made available online only from May 12th: the Attribute Explorer. Finding relevant information will be significantly simplified by the use of filters. The Attrubute Explorer will replace the data entry instructions in their current form. Additional explanation will be available separately at the GS1 website.
