Call for checks
Called in for checks: what next?
As part of the Data Quality 2.0 programme data of and on products are compared with what has been entered in GS1 Data Source.
Based on the 'Start Availability Date Time' entered for new products, you will receive a call to have your product data checked. In case of changed products (not requiring a new GTIN), checks are based on the 'Effective Date'. Your logistic and (possible) label information should be both checked and approved in time.
What happens when you fail to have your product data checked (in time)?
Participating in GS1 Data Source is voluntary, but not without obligations. You automatically participate in the Data Quality programme.
Dutch retailers and wholesalers have fully committed to the programme and expect their suppliers to do the same, aimed at a structural improvement of data quality. Should you fail to do so, they might impose (commercial) consequences on an individual level.
Should a supplier fail to have his products checked after repeated calls, GS1 will start a procedure which may lead to him being disconnected from GS1 Data Source.
