Suppliers, wholesalers and retailers have concluded industry agreements on using GS1 measuring rules in measuring products. Before any data entry, we advise to measure your products in accordance with these rules.
On an international level, retailers and suppliers have concluded agreements on how to determine products' dimensions. These rules apply to the Dutch marketplace as well. At the GS1 Global website all GDSN package Measurement Rules Standards are listed.
Sometimes it may not be easy to select which measuring rule to apply in order to correctly measure your product. We have prepared a useful tool for you (in Dutch).
First, select either consumer or trade unit and subsequently answer the questions.
Product data quality is essential to the chain processes involving suppliers, wholesalers and retailers in the DIY, garden and pets industry. Among others, high-quality data ensures:
The quality of ordering, deliveries, invoice processes and inventory planning are improved.
Online findability of your products is improved, just like your turnover.
You will comply with legislation concerning dangerous substances, environmental tax and packaging tax.
E-commerce attributes quality
For Dutch suppliers subscribing to GS1 Data Source DIY, GS1 has been developing a report on populating e-commerce attributes. This report provides status information on the number of populated e-commerce attributes for each product category (GPS brick code). The report will be available to suppliers from early 2018.
Do you use GS1 Data Source to publish data to your DIY clients? In this case, we request you publish the product data to the data quality checker's GLN/GS1-location code (8712345012021). This helps us to prepare your report.
Should you have questions on publishing product data, please contact our Customer Support at email@example.com or +31(0)20 511 38 88.
