## Generating codes yourself

#### Generating a 13-digit product code

- A standard GS1 code contains 13 digits.
- Start with your company prefix, which your have been assigned by us.

Your company prefix may be made up of 7, 9, 10 or 11 digits (depending on the size of your package). - Next, code your products.

The number of digits you use, depends on your company prefix' length. This can be 1, 2, 3 or 5 digits. Number from 00000 through 99999. - The final digit is a control digit, which you can calculate below.

For example:

The code **87 1234567 890 6** is made up as follows:

- The first 9 digits (
**87 1234567**) make up you company prefix. - The next 3 digits (
**890**) you assign to a product. You determine which number corresponds with which product yourself. - The final digit (
**6**) is the control digit.

#### Generating a 14-digit product code

A GS1 product code of 14 digits is only intended for non-consumer units (such as a case). A 14-digit code is not to scan at the point of sale.

#### Generating a GS1 location code (GLN)

- A location code contains 13 digits.
- Start with your company prefix, which your have been assigned by us.

Your company prefix can contain 7, 9, 10 or 11 digits (depending on the size of your package). - Next, code your locations codeert u uw locaties.

#### Generating a GS1 despatch code (SSCC)

- A despatch code contains 18 digits.
- The code starts with a digit from 0 through 9. This digit is the extension code enabling you to expand the number of despatch codes.
- Next is the company prefix, which you have been assigned by us.

Your company prefix may contain 7, 9, 10 or 11 digits (depending on the size of your package). - Next, code your shipments.

The number of dogiots you use depends in the length of your company prefix. This can contain 1, 2, 3 or 5 cijfers. Number shipments from 00000 through 99999. - The 18th digit is a control digit. You can calculate this below.
