Which packages are available and how do you determine the right choice?
Who applies for codes?
When your product name is on the product or if you are the producer, you are responsible for encoding the items.
Which codes do you need?
Determine what you want to encode. Do you need to encode locations, dispatch units or a combination of these?
If you order for the first time, a GS1 code package is the most obvious choice.
How many codes do you require?
When selecting the package size, keep the size of your product range in mind. Which variants (in colour or size) do you stock? Also take into account the expected growth of your product range over the coming years. It is more efficient to select a larger package now than to need to order an extra package before long.
What will you receive when you purchase a GS1 code package?
You will receive officially registered barcode numbers. These unique digit sequencies are the key to (product) information.
The number can be converted to a symbol (the well-known barcode).
